September 2020
I have to admit that like almost all blogs, this one has been falling by the wayside. But it's still worth it to me, to keep going with it.

New movie recap
I watched one movie for the first time in September! I stopped watching DVDs from the library, and we didn't get around to watching any other movies.
Sully (2016). This is the only drive in movie I remember ever seeing, and the only movie I've watched in North Dakota.
Although this was an interesting topic, it was a strange movie, because you already know what happens. And the thing that happened (crash landing) took only a couple of minutes. So the movie was about a battle with the transportation board. The movie of course had to make those people look like total jerks, which they are probably not in real life. I still enjoyed it, but it's not must see.
5 stars/10
Book recap
I finished only 4 books in September. There are a few main factors.
- I can't find any more Roald Dahl books to read.
- I'm still reading an 800 page PowerShell book
- I got really close to finishing Atomic Habits, but returned it to the library to avoid a late fee.
Roald Dahl books:
The Minpins - 4/5 stars
The Mildenhall Treasure - 3/5 stars
Other books:
A Wrinkle in Time, by Madeleine L'Engle 2/5 stars. It got a little too abstract for me.
Rowley Jefferson's Awesome Friendly Adventure - 3/5 stars. It's pretty funny but of course juvenile. My younger daughter wanted me to read it.
Music Happenings
-Played acoustic piano and sang, and led worship at church with 20 hours notice.
-On a different Sunday, I played bass guitar inside, then the keyboard outside.
-Then on one more Sunday, I led worship from the Yamaha keyboard using my Sunday Keys program. I received a comment that I sounded like Michael W. Smith, and took that as a compliment.
Happenings
We were on vacation in North Dakota. A highlight was walking 4 miles on the Sheyenne National Grassland. It wasn't the most exciting trip of all time, but I'd say it was a good one for a year like 2020.
Planted seed in neighbor’s yard where the siding people destroyed it, and I renovated some of my lawn's bare spots as well.
It's long been an annoyance that our house doesn't have a spigot in the back. So I attempted to solve that issue by connecting our 100 foot hose to the front spigot, and bringing it around the back, semi-permanently, so that I can water the back. That would of course be removed for winter. It has worked really well.
Overseeded the lawn, but then it hardly rained at all, so I'm not sure how successful it was.
Posted my blog article about why I'm not voting for Trump, which I actually worked on during the North Dakota trip, on the screened-in porch, in the chilly air.
COVID Happenings
-Not too much new here for September.
